yikes! your machine is full of garbage and spyware crap.

do a registry scan with a popular registry doctor or fix program, write down the junk that's come into the machine recently or on the date you visited the warez type site... then spysweep and do other spyware program sweeping.. one program won't find them all.

then after that take a registry fix type program and scan your registry again and write down the questionable stuff... (and the stuff that the spyware found too)

then do a manual search of the exe programs and DLL drivers too in "my computer" using the search from your start menu...

search the entire computer and see what comes up... you find those little programs and they're still there with the drivers, manually delete them..

scan again! using all the programs and the registry programs.

do this over and over until the problem stops.

some of this crap wont show up on some programs.. becuase it's not a virus it's their subscriptions and other ads that embed themselves through a command (automated from the site of course) and get deep into the machine telling it you want porn and you want this and you want this program to do this for you and you want their warez site to be your home page when you key up your browser and you want your email to do this for you pertaining to programs you got from the site and blah blah blah.

it's maddenening.

that should be illegal because you're not given a chance to say YEA or NEA to the dam stuff.

sure you visted the site but most cases they don't give you the time or chance to make that decision it's done for you.

i wish you luck.

if you need help from someone at a computer shop.... (nearby if there's one) drag the machine there and hopefull there's a honest jobe who'll just go.. "yeh let me scan it with this and then i'll talk you through it what to watch out for and you'll be fixed up.. oh don't try this again"

so on.

:D

by the way each scan the program does just tell the programs to delete the crap.

then repeat, rinse.

Run Ad-Aware, It will get rid of all that garbage that is slowing down your computer. And never install those toolbars or even pop up blockers. They only block the popups, they dont remove the programs that cause them.

So, you know it is from Microsoft and they only want to help you have the best computer you can!

Dont get that anti-spyware, or spybot. That has a change of it coming with something, no matter what anyone says!

So stay safe on the internet!

but most of all, enjoy the internet!

It is a virus. Not all viruses can be scanned with firewall.I had to install AVG anti virus to get rid of my spam viruses. It worked well, but does not work with your firewall program. They are seperate programs that will not work together.Just type in AVG on yahoo and go to the AVG free spyware download. After you download, do a virus scan.It "WILL" find your viruses. After that, move them to your virus vault on the AVG program. This happened to me and this program works well.

Hello,
while almost all ad-blocking are pricey, try these two, which are free.
if you are not running windows xp - you can use "hijack this" - a powerful free software that can be used to trace and block from beginning at startup. but you must be sure about what you are doing. it is free to download at download .com or search for hijackthis in google.

another alternative is windows malicious software removal tool, available at microsoft website. also there is another one, only for xp, that is windows defender.

so try this and see. anyway i prefer hijackthis above all. i have used that and seen how it works.
cheers.

before you do that, go to your start menu select all programs, go to accesories, then system tools. Select system restore, it will bring up a box, select restore my computer to a previous date, then click next, a calender will pop-up, us this calander to select a date previous from the one when it got infected, (3-5 days normally works) then click next, and let your pc restart itself, if that doesnt work then try the software that, they provided in the other answer
