Who has dated their significant other for 7 or more years and then got married? Are you happily married? Did things change after you go married? Did you get divorced? What happens to people who have dated for so long...and wait to get married?

I dated my husband for five years before we got married. We have been together since 1998. Altogether we have been involved for 8 years. We are definitely happily married. We lived together for before we got married, so nothing has really changed that much. I think waiting to get married let us see how compatible we were for one another. We were used to each other by the time we walked down the aisle. We have a two year old son now. I feel the same way about my husband that I did eight years ago. I love him.

I dated my ex-husband for 8 years. We remained married for 5 1/2 miserable years. Our problem was we never lived together before we got married, so once we moved in together, we realized we each had too many idiosyncracies to get along.

Another problem was our sex life. While we were dating, I just put it down to not being alone often enough. However, once we were married, it didn't change. Once every 7-9 months just isn't going to cut it! He just didn't like it.

I feel if you have dated someone for over 7 years and you havent had enough good times in that time span then you shouldnt be married. Thats just to long to still try and figure out if your right for a person or not. My advise after 7 years of just dating move on!!!!!!!!

My husband and i have been together since 1996 got married in 1997 and divorced in 2001, we got back together in 2004 and eventhough we are not married, but we are together, i am happy this way. This time i am way more happy than i was when we were newlyweds. Things have changed thou, for the best. We have both matured and learned to value each other.
XOXOXOX:)

People who date for 7 yrs are either very young ie 16-22 or they want to keep their options open ie waiting for the next better one to come along.

11 AND 1/2 YEARS.IT NEVER HAPPENS BY CHOICE,BECAUSE THINGS BECOME / ARE COMFORTABLE.THERE IS NO NEED.OTHER THEN, TO SATISFY THE BIBLE AND IT'S LAWS.

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS.
