Not just doctors -- it seems that anyone who is highly educated can develop a know-it-all attitude (PhDs, lawyers, etc.).

But doctors get to "play God", since they sort of have the power of life and death to some extent. Perhaps some of them let it go to their head.

The typical "doctor" is a person with average to slightly above average intelligence. Such a person will not find interest in difficult subjects such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or advanced biology. Since it's usually stupid people who are arrogant, you tend to find "doctors" who are arrogant very often. They think they've accomplished something by becoming "doctors" after locking themselves up in their rooms and keep studying. This becomes even more clear when one takes a look at these "studies" that get published the whole time. These people are not scientists. It's unbelievable how they arrive at conclusions and write them with such confidence in those studies. They just want to build a resume and their "research experience". Unfortunately, this trend of doing useless "research" has made it to other areas of science, where people just modify an already existing algorithm or "introduce" a "better" theory and things of that sort.

If you were successful your whole life at most everything you did, you too would be arrogant. If you had to spend 12-16 years going to school to be a doctor you too would be arrogant. If you had to be the dominant person in nearly every relationship you had in life (i.e. doctor patient relationship) You too would have to be arrogant. Would you want to go to a wishy washy doctory............

You---- "doctor, my foot hurts"
DR.---- "take two asprin"
You---- "NO"
DR---- "ok (sheepishly)"

NO, YOU NEED A DOCTOR TO TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO DO BECAUSE HE IS AN EXPERT. WITH EXPERTESE COMES ARROGANCE, IT'S NATURAL.

By the way, I am not a doctor, nor do I even know any doctors. My arguement just makes sense to me. Thanks

They work 80 hours a week and never see their family. Their wives spend their money on douney and bourke and stuff from big box mart. They spend 2 min. with you and charge $200 its a numbers game. And to move things along they have to know it all.

They just treat you formally because if they start treating you friendly like you'd like, you'll either under-estimate your sickness or start making diagnosis and giving yourself medicine by yourself ...
something iam sure of is that doctors think their patients lie to them ... i couldn't figure this one out ...
