A church memeber not only attends services but they need to be there for their fellow members. In our church when there is a need the person asks and the people respond with whatever they have to help. If it is putting on a new roof or moving or prayers. You show other people your light under your feet that comes from the Lord and you should never be a hypocrite. It gives all christians a bad name.

First of all understand what being a Christian means. The parable of the Samaritan might give you a clue. I went to Church in England until I was 18. The priest never prayed for persecuted Christians, he prayed for all those who are persecuted because of their religion.
Not a saint, and I should know, he was my father, but he had the right idea. He also never said that he was a Christian, but that he was trying every day to be a Christian.

This question is not really specific enough, but attending services and being involved and active in the programs you enjoy is important.
