Just to clarify, I mean the little logo to the left of the address in the address line of your browser

Set a favicon.ico in the root directory of your site, or specify the location of a favicon.ico in your page.

Do a web search for "favicon.ico" and you'll find a few tutorials.

Why would you want to do that? Domain Name Servers wouldn't recognize it anyway. The URL line is meant to translate a domain name (say Yahoo.com) into an Internet Protocol address (216.109.112.135)

Putting a logo in there would just screw the process up.

For Internet explorer, it's by File Associations. You associate the file type with a program on the PC, and the program's icon is the "logo."

Browsers don't recognize logos.

Need more info here. I do not understand what you are trying to do. If you just mean pointing your browser at a pic then http://www.somedomain.com/yourlogo.gif.
