In the area of 45 million but no one at Microsoft is really sure because a lot of the code has been merged together and has become what is known as Spaghetti code, some of which is broken or full of holes (hence all the patches).

it is impossible to answer, coz microsoft source code is a secret. there can be many estimates. it probably goes in its billions.
