Considered by many to be one of the best and fastest defensive backs in NFL history, should Mr. Redskin Darrell Green get in the Hall in his first year of eligibility?

what's with the first ballot eligibility? He's either HOF worthy or he isn't. His stats aren't going to improve after he's retired. Don't give me you have to look at who he's going in with. His stats should stand on their own.

He has the most consecutive seasons with an interception (19)
He's a 7 time Pro-Bowler
He has the Redskins franchise record for most career interceptions (54)
Redskins franchise record for games started (258) and games played (296)
Won 2 Superbowls with the Redskins (XXII and XXVI)
Oldest cornerback in NFL history (42)
Most seasons (20) with one team (Redskins: 1983-2002)

He's HOF worthy.

I agree with Dale. I freaking hate the Redskins, but I can recognize when I've seen one of the best ever at their position. He gets in easily on his first try.

ekpfins - Ronnie Lott was only a corner for about 3 or 4 years, he was a safety for most of his career. He was the best safety ever...well, maybe Steve Atwater has an argument also.

You guys that hate Darrel Green must be Dallas Cowgirls (oops, I meant Cowboy fans). Mr. Green is an all time great at his position.

I don't think so. He shouldn go in in his second or third year of eligibility. He was great, but he wasn't the greatest corner of all time. Ronnie Lott was, and he wasn't a first ballot HOFer.

He played for 20 years and was the best at his position. He should be in the HOF the first year of eligibilty.

I think so... I hated him (cowboy fan) but he's one of the all-time greats at his position.
