Well, I guess I'd need a last name to give you a definitive answer, but I like Matteo. I actually know one (my son's 13 year old friend) and he's a really nice kid with a lot of personality.

The thing to ask yourself, though, is how would the name fit a child of yours. It is an unusual name that is somewhat ethnic and is more appropriate for "darker" nationalities: latin, spanish, South American, etc.

I myself could never name my kid Matteo because my kids are very fair Irish/English descent...so they would not "look" like their name.

Great name if it fits, though.

Its not too late to be honest right ?
I am not keen on names ending in O.
It reminds me a bit of that banana plantation song by Harry Belafonte (Day-O, Daaayyy - O, Daylight come and I wanna go home....)

A boy at my son's school has the name Matteus.
I think that sounds good too.

Some other ideas .... check if it 'goes' with your last name, see if his initials make up some common abbreviation, say it out loud and see how it sounds, write it to see if it flows.

Congratulations !

It's unique but young children can be cruel and I think he would be made fun of b/c it is so different. If you really like the name, make it his middle name and he can choose if he wants to go by it when he gets older. Good luck and congrats!

If the parallel universe consistant to the flux of gravity(and, in a way, anti-gravity), this should be said as a nonfactorial base structure, i.e., Jimbo.

I think it's a lovely name, but it's very ethnic. If you have an Italian last name, it makes sense, but if you have a different sort of last name, it may sound funny.

Do your kid a favor and make sure you are spelling it right. My buddy's wife works at a school. Some lady tried to register her daughter, the daughter's name was Leshit. no sheet - I couldn't make that up.

It depends on the last name, the first name is nice, but if your last name is Smith it may sound weird.
