Absolutely women should be able to race in Nextel Cup. They have to be good enough, of course. In my mind, it doesn't really matter who is under the helmet as long as he/she can get the job done.

Why do you answer your own question?
I think NEXTEL needs woman drivers for sponsorship money and to prove they are not just a bunch of good old boys. The same goes for minority drivers.
Its not like the NBA where men have a physiological advantage over woman. Men and woman are equal when it comes to the skills needed to drive a car. It just comes down to the size of the talent pool. In 15 years there will be multiple woman drivers in nextel cup.
The only problem is if a woman wanted to start a family she wouldn't be able to drive the entire season.
Oh and any one who says that woman are taking away a seat from a man or any traditional male job needs to go live in a cave.

Yes! I have hopes for Erin, I have been keeping an eye on her! Maybe one of these days! I'd like to see her not only in Nextel, but to do good at it! Same with Bill Lester, I'd like to see a black person not only race in Nextel, but have a few really good finishes! I think it could bring a lot more to Nascar, including new fans!

Of course they can . Racing is a skill, you do have to be fit but that's not the main thing I raced lawn mowers it's all about the need for speed.Iwas the only girl on our team and the guys were supportive, and we had a blast at the races.

i havent heard of women winning races in arca or irl lately, unless i missed it completely, but if they got the talent and aggresiveness, then sure, give it a try.

Yes they should I don't see why not. If they like it and are good enough then there is no problem with it. It is good to see women making it in a predominantly male sport.

Yes, who cares if they are male or female. As long as they can race that's all that matters.
