I weight trained at home for nearly 9 months and my house looked exactly the same. Very frustrating isn't it

It might take some time to be able to see results. Stick with it, and dont follow the "no pain no gain" mentality- the people who do that only have inflammation in their muscles, because they are lifting too much, too long, too often, etc, and developing tears, tiny ones, throughout their muscles.
Some guys get "big" this way, but bigger isnt always stronger. Do what youre confortable with, and if you feel pain in your muscles, lower the weight amount, or give yourself a day off.

Also try walking for 30 minutes a day, to keep the fat off.

Oh yeah, and you might not be consuming enough calories. Try consulting with your Dr, to see how many calories you need to consume, so that you can build muscle at a healthy rate. You could be burning too many calories, and unable to grow, as a result. It might help to consume about 200-300 more calories a day, from actual solid food, if you arent seeing any difference.

I used to do that and it had little effect. So i decided to pay £35 a month subscription for gym. I go 4 times a week, so that work out to around £2 per session.

You will be more motivated in gym. You then creat a pattern for yourself, you then see results quickly! Dont forget protein drinks after training. Creatine is good help too.

I guess you will have to WAIT for the WEIGHT training to pay off. Diet plays a big part in it too, but time is the most important.
By the way, just how DO you train weights and what are you training them to do?

long story short...you either not lifting heavy & long enough, working out too much (6 days per week, same areas, same exercises) or your diet is crap.

I suspect both.

Growing / muscle repair happens when your resting, not lifting. To do that it needs the "ingrediants" to do so.

Your calorie weight should be about your body weight x 14, spread over 6 meals per day.

2g protein per pound of body weight
3-5g CLEAN carbs (rice, potatoes, yams, limited wheat bread)
and lots of veggies.

Take a good multi vitamin
invest in some creatine and L - Glutamine Peptides

Get good / plenty of sleep.

No alcohol.

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe your diet needs more protein in it to boost your muscles, also how often do you train per week, don't do to much- apparently three times a week is adequate and gives your muscles enough time to rest (which is when they actually grow)
