Foreign policies are based on the party in power and opposition helps at times. If no one is paying attention, then present rulers Republicans and the opposition Democrats deserve no sympathy. But there are issues involved in the day-to-day running of a government and these also should be seen and with the entirity and Chavez matters and things like that also be among them.

Hugo Chavez during Katrina offered the US discounted oil, we declined, this was after elements in the US military and Venezuela Elite kidnapped and nearly assassinated Hugo Chavez.

Chavez is a threat to the power structure of the west because he is a leader who is defending the soveriegnty of his country and is trying to improve the lives of the common people of his nation, an act that threatens the control of the elite.

And I will remind you that in the US's history we were friends with Iran, and then ovethrew the pro-west Shaw in the 1950's to install a brutal regiem. We were friends with Saddam in the 1980's until we tricked Saddam into invading Kuwait and then turned on our former Iraqi stooge. And If I am not mistaken Bin Laden was a CIA asset working for us against the soviets before he "went rouge" and became the modernday equivalent of the fictional Goldstein from Orwell's 1984.

Not so sure what you are trying to get at. Chavez has offered to sell the US oil for $50.00 a barrel and yet our good moron and Chief has not bought any of it as to try and lessen our woes at the pump. Who cares if Chavez is doing business with these countries it tells me that he is a lot smarter than our own moron. Why are people so worried about these little nothings of countries. Do they put so much fear into you that you are awake at night worried that a nuke from N. Korea or Iran may land on your head? They do not have the ability to put a missile here and if they did I think that they would not do it. Why? Maybe it is because we have 10,000 nukes more powerful than the 2 we dropped on Japan just waiting to be launched. I would not be to worried about other countries and I would be more worried what the Moron and Chief is doing in America

Applause to dlee 75, I could say it no better, maybe we could become more friendly with Chavez and he would not need to buy weapons to defend his country. After our record of attacking Iraq for no reason other then oil, I would be suspicious of the U.S. myself.

As much as I can not stand you personally, I agree you have a very good point, and your elected administration is not paying attention. Maybe next time you wont vote for a moron
