I have a Dell at home and at work and so far (touch wood!) haven't had any problems. I was told they use inferior quality components but the price you pay for a Dell and the amount of use a PC gets makes the "risk" worthwhile.

As far as my experience they are not bad but the customer service is horrible. They outsource to India or somewhere. You can't even understand them. Personally I wouldn't buy one again. Realistically you can get an HP or other for about the same price. Dell has lots of hidden fees. I paid almost twice the advertised amount for a PC from them. Plus their stocks have been dropping like crazy. They are having difficulties and I question if they will be in business very much longer.

DELL IS JUNK !

At work, I have a brand new Dell P4 Xeon 3GHZ w/2MB L2 cache and a 1GHz of RAM and the worst video card ever.
The CPU cost about $800.00 and video card about $50.00!?!?

Just people without the brain (DELL) can put together an $800 CPU and $50.00 video card !!!! Video card doesn't support 3D!

At home, I have a P4 E 3.0GHz (currently about $150) and 512 MB RAM on ASUS P4PE 800 SE motherboard and my computer works almost faster.

Don't go with Dell, its a waist of money, nerves and you get junk components. Not to tell about customer support....horrible !!!

i think any computer company is gud which provides you gud customer service. we have over 500 dell computers in our company and they run as smooth as ever. though there are some problems with the form factors of the motherboard with some of their new compact desktops, but the customer service is excellent. i personally recommend dell because of their 2nd day customer service, they are very quick to respond.
one more thing that i like about dell is that it is the only company which has a large selection of computers. normally companies have 2-3 machines that they sell but dell has a wide range of products to suite everyones needs

The PCs themselves are okay but if you do have problems then you will find Dell very unhelpful.

Also, if you want to upgrade your PC later then you will also find big problems.

They are but you need to think about what you buy and if you have a problem with a dell you have to talk to a India person and sometimes I cant understand what they are saying.

For the money you will spend, a Dell is one of the best computer values out there.
