IPAQ PDA - No Wi-FI?

My husband and I bought an IPAQ pda and it is supposed to have Wi-Fi. I believe we have it set up correctly, but we never get any Wi-Fi access, even at places like Panera Bread where you are definitely supposed to get it. Are we doing something wrong?

Which iPaq do you have? If you do find out that your iPaq does not feature built-in WiFi, you can purchase a WiFi SD card.
