I believe he is sorry for the slur caused by alcohol.
I also believe he is sorry he was caught.
It may be the best thing as he is a self-admitted alcoholic.
It has caused him to rethink the situation and get help.
I believe in Mel Gibson as a normal decent human being.
Please remember Alcoholism is a disease
I am fellow countrywoman of theirs
I dont feel that any celebrity from any country is given a fair go An ordinary citizen wouldn't rate this much attention for the same thing by the media

I think he is sorry to have been caught and for the negative impact it is having (now and in the future) on his career/life. After the things he has said, the public has a totally different image of Mel. Also, Like people have said they may forgive him for saying *some* of the things he said, *but* forgiving does not mean they will continue to back/support any of his work...pretty sad for a celebrity that had a really good life going!

Sorry he got caught, he's an anti-Semite, be honest at least, I'd respect him more for it. He's pandering to all the whiners who boo hoo he insulted the Jews. Catholics get beaten up every day. Look at that idiot Madonna, she did that stupid, stale routine with a cross again. I would love to see her go after the Muslims the same way, they'd kill her ***.

I think it's ignorant to hate someone for anything other than being an ***, I have dated Jewish guys and they treated me the best. When I see a Jewish person praying I feel comfort from it. I feel that as long as you believe in God, not matter what you call him or how you perceive him, is good enough for me. Can't we stop with all this whining and grow up. I don't think they'd be this hard if he killed his family for pity sake.

Sounds to me like he knows he was wrong to say the things he did, and he can admit that, but in his heart he believes it anyway. As for the drinking, well, that's a lifetime struggle, and there's no telling whether he's really sorry about that or not. I'm sure he knows drinking and driving is wrong, but sometimes that addiction is hard to fight.

I'm wondering if this incident will hurt his career? Probably not with the public, or not for long anyway.

I think he's sorry he got caught. The cat is totally out the bag now. There was rumors before that he was a bigoted racist and antisemitist, now everyone knows for a fact. Too bad, he's a good actor, but his skills are wasted on such an azzhole.

He is sorry because he was caught. His actual position on Jews came out when he was drunk. So he feels what he has said. He sorry is a cover up for his image, his career etc etc

He is only sorry when it pertains to his personality. Regardless if he was drunk or not, those thoughts were in his head prior to this. Being drunk just brought them out to the general public. That's probably how he talks around his friends and family. He's just an asshole.

He's sorry he was caught, he's sorry there are photos of him drinking in the bar. I'm sure there's much more that the public isn't privy to in this situation that he's REALLY sorry about.

I believe that he feels he has tarnished his reputation and the only chance of fixing that is to say "I'm Sorry." NO, he's not truly sorry. But he has a career and he needs acceptance.
