It is according to what kind of processor it has, video and audio cards, memory, wireless, hard dive size, and a whole lot of other things one has to look at to answer that. Then too, if you don't try to use it for something it wasn't intended for it will be as good as an Acer or Systemax with the same components. It isn't so much the brand name, rather what it has inside. Like the difference in cars. A car with a V-8 is much more powerful than one with a 4 cylinder, And so it is with computers. :-)

My husband is a computer technician, computer whiz, networking kind of person. He works for a school system & everytime someone asks what kind of computer they should get, he suggests a Dell. A Dell laptop is what I'm on right now, although I need more memory. Good luck.

Yes. The hardware is spectacular.

The software is terrible. If you have the means, I'd suggest getting a computer-able friend to work on it, and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows. If not that, then at least changing out the inefficiencies of the software that often conflicts with other pieces of software.

I have had two. Both have been great. The only drawback that I have found is that the electrical cord wears out quickly. Buth then, I use the computer at home, at the office, and on the road so I do tend to bend it a lot.

My only complaint about mine is that the recovery software requires that you don't repartition or make any changes to the hard drive. However, I ignored that and now run XP and Linux (Fedora Core 4) on the same laptop.
