I really like ferrets but I already have a cat and two dogs. My parents think that they smell and are gross. (Expecially my dad.) I want to convince them that we could fix up a room in the garage for them so that they wouldn't stink up the house. Help please. AND NO STUPID ANSWERS! YOU SHOULD BE REPORTED IF YOU JUST WANT THE TWO POINTS.

Well, the cat is outdoors b/c we let her hunt in the woods. (we have a "cat" house and food and water up by the house for her) and my one dog likes to chase after rabbits and garter snakes in the yard. The other dog is scared of cats. I don't think my parents want to try to make them get along. I love animals though and would be willing to help them get along.

I agree with the suggestion of starting to fix up something for the ferret to show your dedication. Another thing though, who pays to keep up the pets? Do you have a job? If they are paying for these pets, that may be a good reason they have for not getting anymore. In that case, I would say, try to make some extra money somehow & chip in. Good luck.

You have to be willing to consider the responsibility that comes with having another pet. You already have 3. Can you give ALL of them equal, yet enough attention, love and care? All of them are YOUR complete responsibility. Not to mention the expense of feeding and check-ups and toys and all the hassle of cleaning up their messes, taking the dog for walks, cleaning the litter box and cleaning out the ferret's trash too. You have to consider all that comes with having that many pets.

If you can show your parents that you can handle all that responsibility and still have time for your own life, family, friends and needs, then maybe they'll be more willing to give you another pet. You can achieve this by showing them that you can fit all your pets into your life without going crazy and having to juggle everything. Good luck!!

Seeing you asked, this is just my opinion and answer. Makes no difference whether it's ferrets or some other animal. I think your parents have been lenient in allowing a cat and 2 dogs. I have no idea of your situation, but animals are a resposibility and an expense. Perhaps you could see their viewpoint on that end........

depending on the age of the other animals you will find that the ferrets get on pretty well together I know from experience that
cats get on very well with ferrets they are fun little animals and the antics they get up to but u should really get the ok from your mum and dad first
