I work in an office and agree that my day to day job is not always ideal but certainly pays the mortgage and other bills. If I had the opportunity I would have liked to be in positions such as Bush's or Blaire's, and I certainly feel even more so achievable specially after Arnold Shwatzeneger became the governor of California!!! Can you believe that? What on earth were those electors thinking when putting a cross in front of his name (search me as is beyond me honestly), Who would have believed this was possible some years ago? an uneducated (only primary level education and cannot even spell properly in German (his native language), let alone English).
I therefore feel that apart from his Mr Universe steriod-assisted pumped up body, I am more than equipped to do his boss' job. and give me one reason as to why not if he could become the California gov.?? and one thing is certain that If I am given that opportunity to sit at the top in the white house then I would immediately cut down to half initially, the budget going towards making killer bombs and artillery killing innocent people on a daily basis all around the world, and I would feed the world with the other half of the budget so that you would never ever see on your TV screens the pictures of blown up baby tommies caused by hunger and give more nutrition to their dying mother's drained up **** in order to feed their babies naturally. I work my butts off instead of sitting on the side watching them die, to get other rich countries to follow me to eradicate once and for all this kind of natural brutalities on groups of human beings that has done nothing wrong but being born in the wrong part of the planet. I certainly am not gonna be the dumb face and uneducated so called polititians like Arnold and Bush, Blaire, and the like. So help me god. Amen

About one third of all jobs are office based, I am doing accounts so it is all office based for me. I do find it restrictive, as I'm not out meeting people or using up any physical energy. It is mentally demanding tho. One good thing is being able to spend time on the internet! Another is not having nuisance people coming up to me all the time. I use to be a sales assistant and some people were really annoying and wanted to surely bug you. I'm still young and this is really my first step on the career ladder. So perhaps in future, i would like to have my own business or work outdoors with animals. If i wanted to work with animals, it is achievable as my fiance is a farmer with lots of his own land. I already have donkeys.
If you are considering office work, do it and give it a try. If you wanna change career, get some new qualifications or do some volutarty work in your chosen field before applying for any job. Job adverts are the best source for you to know what skills are needed for a job. If you don't know what you wanna do, take your time and think about your hobbies and what job they may lead to. It's never too late.
Hope this is the answer you were looking. x

Yep, in an office. No, a day-to-day office job is not my ideal job, per se, but as the job itself I am doing in the office is what I want to do, it's OK.
Theoretically, in not much more time, I could do this job at home, with sufficient communication with the rest of the team, and, when I have a family, I think that would be a better version. And it is achievable, if I put my mind to it.
My dream job was to become an astronaut, but as I am not very sporty, I doubt I would have passed the physical examinations... Sigh.

I wouldn't say that it's my ideal job. I chose to move to a country where my ideal job may not be a reality but life is about compromise. I do love my job and feel that I have a part in making the world a better place but I will not stop reaching for what I want - no matter if what I want changes from day to day.

Yes I do work in an office. No my day to day job is not ideal to me coz it lacks a lot of things. That the reason why I have opted to leave and try my luck somewhere in starting my own business. I also want to go back to school since my education background is very limiting. Yes I do feel all this are achievable and within the next 3 years I will have accomplish them

I work in an 8:00 to 5:00 office job where I sit at a computer and answer phones all day. It isn't my ideal job (when I'm finished with college I'm going to be a psychologist) but I like it. In fact, the only thing I don't like about it is my boss. If I could eliminate him it'd be the perfect job.

I work in an office and whilst I am professionally qualified to do what I do - I HATE IT!! Just ended up here.
Ideally I would love to be a social worker but can't afford to go back to study and so would have to start at the bottom which means I would be earning next to nothing and wouldn't be able to make my mortgage repayments.
So, instead, I scour the job pages every day and try to think of a way out of this situation!

I'm an Avionics Technician in the RAF. After my training, I was posted to 41(F) Sqn, on Jaguar GR3A's. I worked on the aircraft, outside, through snow, rain, wind and sun and loved every minute of it. I then got posted to Typhoons (eurofighters) and am in a data management role, sitting behind a desk, tapping away at a keyboard all day. When I joined up, I vowed never to work at a desk, and look at me now. :-( It's far from ideal, but it's a necessary evil for my promotion. I long to be a liney again, outside on aircraft, getting wet/sun-burnt, travelling all over the world and doing it with a big smile on my face.

I do work a day to day office job and I love it. Its my ideal job because there is structure. I didn't mind doing customer service jobs but knowing that I'm working m-f 9-5 with paid holidays, bonuses, and vacation, Its definitely a better feeling then a cashier who could be replaced in a moment.

I think if I had more work to do, and enjoyed my work more, then I would like my office job. But at the moment I have only about 2 hours work to do per day, whcih gets really boring after a while!
Id love to give up work and go back to Uni full time, I know I couldnt though, cos rent is so high, and Ive got debts, I can barely pay for all that stuff working full time, never mind going to Uni full time and working part time round it!
