There has been so much good music since the 60s. Although I know where you are coming from. But just a brief glance offers some very quality bands. The Sex Pistols, Ramones, Kraftwerk, Nirvana, The Pixies, Pavement, Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion. That's without even thinking too hard about it. So I think that maybe you need to think outside the 60s. Yes the psych era was awesome, the early rootsy folk rock of The Buffalo Springfield, and The Byrds was great, but there has been very high quality music released since those eras.

Since 'good' is a subjective term, then probably.
I think the major problem that most people have with music past the 60's is that they feel it is far to derritive. Just the same stuff, over and over agian. And, well, they have a point.
What they don't realise is that it's the same with music from that time, as well. 60's music is a whole hash of other things, from blues to folk to country and jazz. All these things existed before and the musicians of that time simply took all this existing strands, played with them a bit, and used different instruments. It's really no different to what people are still doing today.
There have been several distinct musical movements since then, of course: hard rock, punk, new wave, dance, rap, reggae et al. Each brings its own unique thing to the great musical melting pot. Each one is just as distinct, unique and artistically valid as the 60's music. It just comes down to what you like.

AMEN!!! I was born 14 years after Woodstock and I listened to all that stuff growing up. I'd take anything from 1961-1973 over anything else any day. There's been decent music here and there since the 60's, just nothing that could even hold a candle to that era's music.

It's all relative. I don't think there has been good music in about 10 years or so, but that was when I was a teeneager and early 20's. Let me guess, you were a teenager in the 60's. Your just getting old, you just have to face it. I am, we all are.

There was plenty of good music in the 70's. The proof is that those artists(who aren't dead) are still selling out shows!
