One of the reasons that the USA has not invaded Iran or North Korea is that the US military is getting dangerously overstretched.
While they may be the world's only superpower at the moment they do not have access to unlimited resources and manpower. In North Korea I cannot see the Chinese taking too kindly to US troops perched on their border. If Iran were invaded the entire Muslim world, and that includes Saudi Arabia, would have no option but to support the the Iranians. While the Pentagon may have contingency plans for such eventualities I cannot see the USA invading either country in the near future.

Although a number of americans think that the U.S. is the greatest nation in the world, and is self-sufficient.
The U.S. population has just topped 300 million. The world has over 6 Billion population. The U.S. is a small part of the world.
It has great power because of money, but it still relies heavily on many other countries for certain things.
If they started invading other countries. The rest of the world would see that as oppressive and aggressive, and would stop exports to the U.S.
The world does not belong to the United States. The United States belongs to the United States.
It's a bit like your neighbour extending his garden into yours and putting a fence up.
I know I wouldn't take too kindly to that, and I'm sure the other neighbours would be opposed to it too.

1. Too many countries will opose the USA.
2. THey hav too much problems in Iraq. With the unrest goin on and the killings all over Iraq, they can't afford another disaster in NK or Iran.
3. Invading NK would mean the distruction of SK. Cause NK has loads of artilerry directed towards SK.
4. There's no oil in NK.
5. Israel will attack Iran first b4 the Americans will join in the fray.
6. Not much gain in invading countries. Its better for them to destroy a country and leave it be. Eg Vietnam.

Quite honestly, scared might not be the word, but they would certainly cause much more loss of life. Also, Hussein was committing genocide. He was killing his own people by the thousands, which I don't believe is going on in Iran. Plus, even with current problems, Iran and N Korea have been somewhat more reasonable, at least not declaring war on the US openly like Saddam was known to do. Just because one issue is the same with three countries doesn't mean they pose the same "problems".

N.Korea. Why bother? They are not a real enemy its just business. Its like Cuba and the cold war with the soviets.
Now Iran yes. They are the real enemy to western civilisation at the moment. Under the current leadership in Iran there WILL BE war at some stage. As they are all so keen to die for Islam I say lets help them. NUKE THEM and be done with the scum.

2,500 US soldiers have died in Iraq; Americans are counting their casualties and are still in that country without any timetable to withdraw its troops. Americans at home are making themselves heard about their dissent to this ongoing war.
If there are no immediate dangers threatening America or regions where the US has vested interests, it would be pure military adventurism to invade either of the two country - the toll to human lives on both sides would be unbearably high.
The men and women in the US armed forces are among the most courageous, most effective fighting forces in the world - this is unquestionable.

Iraq and Afghanistan were not exactly hard countries to invade but as far as Iran is concern we would incur heavy losses trying to invade them, and as for north Korea , history teaches us that countries with nukes dint get invaded.
