My mom installed our printer using the Windows Add New Hardware Wizard instead of the printers installation disk, how do I remove the printer completely so I can re-install it with the disk and get the extras that come with it. FIY it is a Lexmark Z23.
And i cannot just go to the add/remove programs bc since it wasnt installed with the disk it isnt a program.

The software wont install with the printer added the way it is!

Goto Start--> Printers and Faxes and delete the printer that got installed.
Anther better way is goto Start --> Control panel. Then click on System, then click on Hardware tab. Press the Device Manager button on that tab. Then search for Printer or USB Serial bus where your windows have installed the driver. Right Click on that and say Uninstall.
Your driver will GO! All the best

from the start button go to printers and faxes
right click on the desired printer and go to delete
this should delete the printer
disconnect the cable to the printer then reboot
install the software and plug in tehr printer when the software asks for you to

You dont need to remove it, just install the software.
