Whipping? That's so last century. Everyone uses tazers now to mistreat their horses. Get with the new millennium.

Just remember if you're uncomfortable so are they. Your have dedication to even ride in the heat but consider doing ground work or walking and working on bending, lifting, things that can be done at a slower pace. Since it may not be melting temperature where you are and you could very well be working in reasonable weather try to keep it in moderation. If your arm got tired maybe you rode too long. I've had my horse decide she won't work too hot or cold she has those days and it's a kick fest just to point her in the right direction. I think once you were on they couldn't get away with not working but next time try to consider all the factors and don't make too much of a fight out of it, It's no good for you or them I hate getting off my horse in a bad mood because we fought the whole ride, sometimes I just brush her and we both come out happier. Good luck

First of all I have never whipped a horse. Second of all horses should not be worked in extremley hot weather. I am talking about when the temperature is like 95 or higher. Humans can get sick working in heat and so can animals.

you must be one serious retard! How dare you take your horse out in 100 degree heat and ask it to work! Why dont you go and run around in the sun while someone whips you! I should whip you! Everyone who answered this question should whip you! You are a looser and I hope you get trampled by that poor horse!

hello,
i am a horse trainer, and i work in the humane society with the horses. do not over wip a horse. try not to do things with force. try and use gentle persuasion. working in the heat can be very tiring on the animal. they have very large sweat glands and they tend to sweat a lot more than other animals. the afternoons in the summer is not a good time to work the horses. morning time is much better. and you will get more work out of the horse. hope this helps.

Try whipping some sense into yourself you sadistic brute. I hope someone reports you to the Humane Society where you live. Better yet I hope the horse kicks you in the head.

Are you an idot? You shouldn't whip them at all! Especially in the heat. Maybe they won't work because it's so freaking hot. Give them a break!

if you can't get out of bed early enough to work them early, or wait until it's not the heat of the day, you shouldn't be working them at all. A whip does nothing to TEACH THEM anything when applied in such ways.

Animal cruelty is not even remotely funny. I have reported you and as your name implies you don't care if i have reported you and you will be suspended again. This time i hope that it will be for good. If by some chance somebody See's this who works in law enforcement i and i am sure that many others hope that with the help of Yahoo the police track you down and investigate you for animal cruelty charges. Have fun in jail.

i'm hoping you mean tapping w/ a crop. which if you don't use it carelessly its not going to hurt a thousand pound animal. only ride for like 1/2 an hour in the heat. if it is above 88 degrees i suggest you go no faster than a trot. don't use your crop too hard. start w/ squeesing your legs, then kick, then tap w/ crop, (if no response) tap a little harder. you don't need to use it hard you just have to be consistant.
