Excedrin works the best for headaches, but is horrible on your stomach because of the Aspirin. Excedrin Tension does not contain the Aspirin and is still effective on headaches. Motrin and Advil are both Ibuprofen which is bad for your stomach, but not as bad as Aspirin. Tylenol is the easiest on your stomach but can lead to kidney damage after less than ten days at over the counter dosages. The cause of your headache also plays a big part in what would be most effective in treatment. If you know what type of headaches you are having I can give you better advice. For just general headache I highly recommend trying peppermint tea, a caffeine beverage like black tea, decrease of light and noise, and menthol head rubs. Good Luck and feel better.

Motrin---it depends on what kind of pain you have though--motrin is good for cramps/healdache or back ache, except stomach ache, i like pepto or maalox for that. I also use Excedrin for a headache. I hate Tylenol...that doesnt work at all on me.---aleve is pretty good too though.

For aches, pains, and inflammation I use a store brand of ibuprofen. For headaches I use the store brand version of Excedrin. For fever, store brand of Tylenol. I rarely buy a name-brand pain reliever. Store brands have the same ingredients, cost much less, and work just as well.

Because there are differences between people as well as their preferences, the answers are really meaningless. What may be great for me, may cause ulcers in someone else. Take aspirin: It's a great pain reliever. However, there are people that's allergic to it. So, what's good for one, may not be good for someone else.
