John Lennon was brilliant; and mysterious.
Elvis was sexy. (Admit it)
Both changed the face of music forever and drew a crowd of screaming girls wherever they went.
In terms of music, I'm not a huge Elvis fan - "Suspicious Minds" and "Marie's the Name" and "Little Sister" are all great songs but some of the really early stuff I can't get into. I used to be a huge Beatles fan and then I sort of got over it. I still think Lennon is brilliant, and I still listen to a lot of his solo/Beatles music, but it's no longer something I seek out if I don't hear it in the world around me.
So, short answer: Lennon.

John Lennon was great loved the music loved his style not so much the wife, but hey what are we to do. Elvis was great too but if I had to pick I'd pick John.

I enjoy both. I consider The Beatles as the best rock group and consider Elvis as the best rock singer. Both were early influences on me as a musician in the 60's.
I was saddened when Elvis died and vividly remember hearing the first reports of Lennon's death as I was leaving in my 67' Mustang from the college parking lot.
Fortunately, we were blessed to have heard and enjoyed both, and they each have secured a place in history.
