Iraqis Support Hezbollah; Blast Kills 9
Anti-U.S. Cleric Urges Followers to Go to Baghdad for Hezbollah Rally; Motorcycle Bomb Kills 9

By RAWYA RAGEH
The Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Hundreds of followers of a radical Shiite cleric left a southern Iraqi city on Thursday to join a rally in the capital condemning Israeli attacks on Lebanon, while at least nine people were killed by a bombing in the capital.

Also, 13 people were killed or found dead in the latest sectarian violence.

The bomb was strapped to a motorcycle when it exploded in the center of Baghdad. In addition to the nine dead, 21 people were injured.

The attack near Rusafi Square in the Rashid Street shopping area apparently targeted vendors and commercial stalls, said police Lt. Ahmed Mohammed Ali. He said the bomb was hidden on a parked motorcycle.

The term Holy War was used by the Christians during the Crusades. Jihad is an Arabic word that just means struggle or strive. The phrase that is used in the Qur'an is "jihad fee sybil Allah" or "qitl fee sybil Allah" which means strive/kill in the cause of Allah.

This may be the beginning of WWIII. Iran and Syria support Hezbollah as well. All are Shiite Muslims. Al-Qaida has also pledge support and they are Sunni Muslims. Iraq, however, has its own civil war.

This particular period of history has the ability for the world to destroy itself. No one wins in a war. Property can be restored, but even a lifetime is not long enough to resolve grief over a lost loved one.

Since Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in the messiah, maybe praying for the messiah to come and bring lasting peace before the world destroys itself would be a win-win-win solution

Yes, I think you mean the Iranians, not the Iraqis. But be that as it may, I think calling the present events between Israel and Hezbollah "WW III" or a "Holy War" are just quick ways to put a tag on a very complicated situation.
I don't know what comedian originated this idea, but I give him/her credit if anyone knows. The gist of it: Let's all (the world) make fun of these idiots! We can call the Hezbollah "Hezbos," we can have Hollywood come up with TV shows designed to offend and make fun of terrorists instead of our and our children's intelligence, etc. Laughter, after all, IS the best medicine ... and the Earth is very, very sick.

The only way to get rid of all terror groups, is if the world's countries all join in the battle. So World War 3 would not be such a bad thing. However, it is not part of a Holy War either-- these power hungry, brain washing, terrorists are hiding behind religion as a means to an end. They are radicals, who want to hurt people for the thrill of it, they want to strke terror in the hearts and souls of anyone they can (they even attack non-radical Muslims, because it is not about religion, but rather about terrorizing and hurting people) and they are using their religion as an excuse to do that.

So it is not really a Holy War, but they want to try to convince people it is, so they can look legitimate. But they obviously do not realize that the world is not as ignorant as they are.

maybe yes maybe no. There are lota of other reasons that are likely to lead to a world war 3. But i personally don't agree using the word "holy war". All the time we have learned ( and this in all the religions) that God is related to the word "holy", and that God is always forgiving and is for the good. Then how on earth does the word "Holy" gets assiociated with war??? Which is suppose to be bad?? I just think soem people in this world( i wpn't say to whom i am directing this though) are just misunderstanding what their God said to them, years ago.
