When I installed my new hard drive it was given the name "New Volume." I would like to rename it. Does XP allow this, and how would I do it?

Right click the drive you want to rename, select properties, and then type in whatever you want in the volume label, but it can't be longer than 8 letters and spaces etc aren't allowed

Just open up Windows Explorer and right click on the drive whose name you wish to change. Select properties, then right there at the top in the general tab you can type the name you want.
