Even though OU lost their QB, a rivalry is a rivalry and during Oklahoma-Texas weekend, ANYTHING can happen in Dallas. If the Longhorns are victorious, then there is a chance.....

Silly fool. Texas very well may make it to the Fiesta Bowl this year given how anemic the Big 12 is. Maybe after watching the 'horns in the Fiesta Bowl you can stick around to watch the National Championship game. And as for this "4 PETE" [sic], don't you have to win three times first? No Vince Young, no title.

To the above posters: 25-22...enough said.

After UT steamrolls Ohio State, there's not much between the Longhorns and the National Championship Game - especially now that OU has lost Bomar and are supposedly going to lose Peterson as well. Even the Big 12 Championship Game will be a joke.

The National Championship Game is seperate from the Fiesta Bowl though. It's still going to be played in Arizona, but the Fiesta Bowl is on January 1, and the Championship Game is on January 8.

"The bowl games participating are the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. in addition, a BCS National Championship Game will be played at one of the bowl sites."

No way man, OSU owns the Fiesta bowl. Look at recent history. After this year, we'll own Texas too. Only 2 things come from Texas: Steers and Queers. Do you have horns?

Be difficult to go to a BCS bowl game with an unproven quarterback. Even less of a chance once Ohio State puts a beating on the 'Horns.

Hey Billy, go Blazers!

Anyway, absolutely not! There's no way they beat Ohio State in the second game of the season with Colt McCoy at quarterback. They'll also lose the Red River Shootout against OU. However, in 2007, Texas may win another title.

I've seen you on here talking up Texas all the time. Last time I checked, Vince was drafted. Second, you have to play Ohio State. No offense, but when Ohio State and Notre Dame go undefeated, there wont be any room for Mack and his young little boys. Sorry. Time for you to come up with a new conversation other than longhorn football.

texas will definitely be a contender for another national championship, but only if the new qb is up to par. turnovers will be the deciding factor, as in will the new QB throw interceptions every possession. but as far as depth is concerned they are stacked at almost every position. the loss of ramonce taylor will not really hurt them, but if he goes to anther big 12 south team it might (for example tex a&m or tex tech). not to mention mack brown is thier coach, which couldnt hurt them at all, but they are missing the explosiveness of vince young, which could hurt them. oklahoma is the preseason number 1 so this could be a great year for big 12 football!
