Not really. Dell printers are made for them by Lexmark, which is why all their machines look similar to Lexmark models. It's also why their cartridges look exactly the same. But you can't use Lexmark cartridges in Dell and vice versa.
Dell printers are as bad as Lexmark (I think because they don't sell the really really cheap models that Lexmark makes) but they aren't good either. There are a ton of other options that would be better than Dell and in the long run printers from Canon, Epson and HP will all be cheaper to operate. Dell ink cartridges are very expensive and very small, so it will cost you roughly $70 each time you need a new black and color. Not worth it for the quality you get.

Dell dont actually make anythign, they assemble parts from elsewhere
there printers are rebadged, don't know them all but their colour lasers are Epson, I think their B&W lasers are Epson and possibly Lexmark
So you dont need to buy Dell consumables for all printers.

I'm sure they have great printers, but I prefer Hewlett Packard. Good luck with what ever printer you decide on.

They are pretty good but when you need more ink you have to buy through dell only. And they are expensive!

They're as good as any other. In fact they're usually other makes rebadged. As with anything, check the specification and make sure you get the machine that will do the job you want.
