If you want fuel efficiency, get a damn superbike. 40MPG @ 170MPH = fun on a budget. The prius is barely able to haul itself up to 70, and handles like crap. Also, if you get the bike, you can buy whatever 4-wheeled beast you want and be able to afford it long-term. You can get 60MPG out of them if you resist the urge to crack them wide open
