The 'world ends' with a "d". Unless you are French, then it ends with an 'e'.

since this is in the politics section, I assume you mean how will civilization or the species end. 'Cause yeah, the Earth will probably stick around until the sun explodes a billion or so years from now. The species will probably last considerably less time than that. Nuclear war or biological war are probably the most likely scenarios, or maybe some other type of war we haven't developed yet.
I think the species could survive if we manage to get off the Earth and colonize other planets and star systems. If, however, it turns out that we lack the know-how, resolve or political energy required to accomplish a task of that magnitude (quite likely), then I think we (and all of our descendents) will be dead before the year 2200. We can only hold off on exercising the whole mutually assured destruction thing for so long.
Cheers!

About 4 billion years after we're gone (along with the millions of other species, some intelligent, which follow us), the sun will run out of hydrogen fuel. When that happens, the sun may go nova, ejecting a few outer layers of atmosphere which will destroy whatever biosphere remains on the Earth.
Whether or not the sun has enough mass to go nova (NOT supernova; it's too small for that), it will begin burning Helium when the Hydrogen is used up. It will then begin to swell, eventually engulfing the planet and destroying it. The "swelling" process will only take a few hundred to a few thousands of years to reach Earth. Then, the planet will officially be gone.
The thing to keep in mind is that we will have nothing to do with the eventual fate of the Earth. We're just not that important.

Most people confuse the world ending with the end of human life on Earth. These are two different issues. At the current rate of overpopulation and conflict, humanity has less than a thousand years left.
The Earth, however, can go on for untold milennia . . .

The Earth will be consumed in the expanding sun a few billion years from now as the sun's heat overpowers its gravity, causing it to expand outwards...devouring Mercury, Venus and Earth before shrinking down to become a white dwarf.
The sun does not have enough mass to go either nova or supernova.

Meteor impact. Of course that will only "end" human civilization. The world itself will heal, re-spawn life and a new dominant species will rule the planet.

An ice age will once again occur. That or one country will drop a nuke and then another will retaliate and WW4 starts the beginning of the end.

The sun with release tremendous energy, solar flares and our atmosphere will burn off and we will be extinct along with everything on Earth in about a billion years.
But lets think happy thoughts!

eye for an eye ends up making the whole world blind;
similarly - attitudes like "life for life or lives" for grievances ends the world.
so, let us spread love to all living beings - for endurance.
