I'm 19 and even though I have a good low voice, I'd like to get it lower. When I wake up in the mornings my voice is lower because my vocal chords are more relaxed, i guess; is there any way to keep it that low?

Move to Chicago, and smoke a minimum of three packs of cigarettes a day...

It worked for Carol Channing.... it can work for you too.

If your voice is lower in the morning, then the cause is probably tension in your throat area. Do everything you can to relax. One thing that is especially good for the vocal chords is hot tea with honey--especially chamomile tea. It's very relaxing.

If you're really serious about this, you might work with a vocal coach. The kind of coach you need is one who works with actors and professional speakers. You may find one in a major city or near a major university. The speech department at a university may help you.

If there is a huge difference between the way your voice sounds in the morning and the way it sounds the rest of the day, see a doctor just to make sure there's nothing wrong. The doctor to see would be called an ear, nose and throat specialist. The best way to find a specialist is to call the best hospital in your area, and ask for their list of doctors in that specialty.

The only way I know of is vocal training - kind of like singers do. Look into finding a voice coach.

well, my friend used to have a really gay voice, literally. it was how i found out he was gay. one day he wanted to change is voice and make it sound more manly. he, at first, had an operation, but it didnt really seem to help. he then went to a performing arts centre where they teach singing lessons and other musical types of things and they were able to get his voice sounding the way he wanted it to sound. he went back to school and everyone was surprised to find that he's voice had changed tremendously. i guess what im trying to say is mayb you should attend one of these places. you know you have it in you to get your voice lower, all you need to do is learn how to use it properly and learn how to control it.
