It is not hopeless. If you like Physics, you can learn the math that you need. It will require hard work but I believe it can be done.Math is only a tool, a means to an end. For Physics I think you need curiosity and a rich imagination.

There are different types of physics classes available, not all of them highly reliant upon math. For example, at one university I know of, they teach a basic physics class where they teach you the math you need as part of the class, and they try to keep the math limited.

But if what you mean is physics as a career, then yes, you need extensive math.

Because physics is steeped so heavily in math, you must be able to understand and do the math concepts before you can even attempt to understand physical concepts.
