As everyone else is saying it is a lack of water,, Make sure that you are clipping off the spent blooms so that it isn't wasting it energy sending water to it.. Water in late evening and water the leaves too .. they take in just as much moisture through the leaves as they do through the roots.
Also when watering water the undersides of the leaves it will knock of any bugs that may be bothering it right now.. don't get water on the leaves in the heat of the day will burn them..
well good luck. i have to go take care of mine this morning too. so have a good day

maybe it got to much water, or there could be a problem with bugs of some sort.
some plants do turn yellow when they are going into a new stage.
on the internet if you type in the words "Butterfly Bush" you will get a lot of choices of information about the butterfly bush. Good Luck

If you live where there has been a combination of high heat and strong winds, the leaves are suffering from dryness. Water the bush more with a long, slow soaking. At least, that's what I'd do.

could either be lack of water from the heat or it may have a blight. if it has a blight, check the leaves. are there black or red knobby things growing from underneath the leaves in patches? if so, its a blight. they sell something at home depot that you can sprinkle in the dirt to try and cure the blight, but im not sure if it works.
water only during the evenings. if you water during the late morning or early afternoon, then you could be "frying" your plant out in this heat. the sun will bake the leaves, causing the plant to loose even more water.

Check the link below where there is a forum discussion about this problem -- they seem to feel it may be spider mites causing it and go on to tell you how to take care of it.
There is also a second link to a forum about yellow leaves with black dots which may be a fungus and what to do about that.
Good luck!!

I think that your butterfly bush needs to have minerals and watered a least once a week........................ Check out the plant section of place like Home Depot or Nursery for information.
I hope that your plant survives. Good Luck

not enough water (with as hot as it is they can suck up a lot of water, also don't water the leaves which will burn the plant), not enough sun (butterfly bushes are full sun plants)
