Why does the media get ahold of a story and drag it out forever? An example of this is Mel Gibson. He was arrested LAST week and still everywhere I look there are articles. Isn't there any other more important news to be reported, somewhere, anywhere...

Does the media think we have a low learning curve and we need to be reminded until it finally sinks in.... "Oh Yeah, Gibson was arrested for drunk driving, he said some horrible things while intoxicated and perturbed."

Mel Gibson.... "Who is he again, I forget?"

The sad thing is that the press has almost totally ignored the real anti-semitic story that occurred on the same day as Mr. Gibson's tirade. That of a Pakistani muslim gaining entrance to a Jewish community center by kidnapping a 13 year old girl at gunpoint and then shooting 6 women inside, including a pregnant woman, killing one. His mission, he said, was to kill Jews.

The apologists for his crimes quickly sprang into action claiming mental illness when the real truth is that, although he may suffer from a mild form of bi-polarism, was set off by inflammatory, hate-filled, speeches heard at his mosque the day before.

The media is repeating this story because its about Mel Gibson. He made Passion of the Christ. Alledgedly when he was arrested he made used Christ's name profanely.

In my opinion the media are like a pack of vultures - they like to eat one someone who is dead meat. :-)

most media networks list news in the entertainment field. i believe they are calling it info-tainment. foxx news is best. they have grown into a media giant. part of the reason for all the publicity on Gibson was his production of the 'passion'. a very controversial movie. most newspapers and t.v. stations resemble the national enquirer.

If a story sells then they will keep running the story until they think the public is tired of seeing it. Money talks and bull*hit walks.
