1.) To protect your modesty, as not everyone is comfortable with the idea of being watched while changing.

2.) To protect their own modesty. Although doctors are accustomed to see the (semi-)naked body, they may or may not be comfortable with watching someone get changed.

3.) To protect against lawsuits. No doctor wants a lawsuit from a patient who claims they were gawking while the patient was getting changed (whether it is true or fraudulent).

4.) It's a little bit of time they can use to quickly check up on a nearby patient.

Do you really want someone starring at you whilst you get changed....? May be they have something better to do when you are getting changed like for example

1) Communicating with another colleagues
2) Reading your patients records
3) Getting other patients prepared
4) Making a short phone call
5) Just giving you that privacy,
6) For chaperoning purposes

Hope this helpsl

It is to afford you privacy while you change. On a practical note, it also saves the Dr time as he/she need not wait around while you do so.

because the act of watching females undressing can be sexually provocative to the male, like wise it is very sexually stimulating to see ladies in nice underwear[one presumes you wear something decent if your going to the docs] ,in fact most men prefer ladies with a bit of something on than totally nude, though i like both .hell makes me wish i was a doctor

For some reason, we're far more embarrassed about getting dressed and undressed than we are about being naked.
