For good practice you should learn which ones to use where and why.

There are way too many tags and atributes that you do not need to use on every page or in every situation. Learn the dozens that you need all the time to get the basic page done and then for the extra bells and whistles, look up tags in a book or on the net. That way, you will not have some random tag memorized that will be absolutely unnecessary for you!

By the time you have learnt the tags you could have written pages of code......
