quote, "Shoot Rupert Murdoch for what he's done to the English" Can anyone tell me what he meant?. (I'm wondering if what I have observed has changed is down to him)

Rupert Murdoch is the head of Fox News in the US. And if Potter did shoot him, a lot of people in the US would thank him too - its not just the English he's hurt.

Hi! Potter is just a dirty old man..but everyone is entitled to his/her own view - but it is people in the limelight ( like Mel Gibson ) who spout nonsense that winds up easily lead people to do crazy things.. Maybe Murdoch hasn't gave his sad dramas airtime on Sky TV.
