I don't get it. How come it's ok to portray Italians as uneducated thugs who kill people (The Sopranos, The Godfather, Goodfellas, etc.) and Irish as drunken leprchans (St. Patricks Day), but Mel Gibson says something about the Jews and it's on the news every five minutes.

It also seems that no matter what he does or says, it won't help. Maybe they should drag him through the streets face down, then burn him to a crisp.

Is it just me?

Imagine if you will, that the Mel in question here was not Mel Gibson, but was Mel Brooks. And in a drunken rage he (Mel Brooks) spouts off racial slurs directed toward the black arresting officer. What would become of him? Would his reputation be dragged through the mud or even questioned? Probably not. But because Mel Gibson is not Jewish he is not afforded the casual drunken nasty comment or two. No "get out of Jail free" card issued today for the Road Warrior. It's a real shame that someone who has worked as hard as Mel Gibson to get where he is today has to put up with petty things like this. He is still on the hit list with the Jewish community for making Passion of the Christ. For the Jewish community to persecute him like this is absolutely and unequivocally a travesty. Let him continue to make movies, can't wait for "Apocalypto".

Very simply, somehow, the Jews have total domination over the media...which is not a good thing.

See, as usual, people are not getting the entire story. The man made a movie about Christ and was withstood by the Jewish powers dominating Hollywood. The man lived under extreme stress because he made a movie about Christ. Why? Cause Jews hate Christianity. See, the bigotry started there, with Jewish hatred. Who are they to try and stop or pressure Mel for making a movie about Christ? They did just that. It was they who started the stress on his life. That stress was building up and hurting his career in a city dominated by Jews. When he got drunk, all of that stress just poured on out.

How does Hollywood become dominated by Jews? Who gets a movie? Who gets a promo? Who gets advanced? Why so many Jewish actors getting jobs? Are Jews promoting Jews, to the hurt of other non-Jews? Why am I anti-Semitic for pointing out bigotry?

Mel was not an anti-Semite. If he is now, surely, it's the Jews doing. How is a man supposed to respond to pressure like that? Except to hate them. (and still Mel doesn't hate them) And again, why do Jewish people have such a dominating stronghold over all the media and so many other areas of our lives?

is it okay for you to portray white anglo-saxons as geek-balls? All of those mob movies portray a reality; the Mafia consisted almost 100% of Italians. Nowhere in the movie did it say "Italians are thugs" and that St Patricks Day reference is just plain silly.

What Mel Gibson said was a racist comment because he blamed "the Jews." That's the line that he crossed that none of those movies you mentioned ever crossed, was making the leap of faith to say a whole group is represented by some troubled portion within it.

Believe it or not the Jews "please don't crucified me" rule America it is seems no matter what they do they are right in the name of the Holocaust. anyone can call a black man a ****.., remember the N word has nothing to do with the race, anyone can call Italians mafia i don't think Mafia is requirement to be an Italian, but a Jew is a Jew no matter where he goes, the same way that a black man is black man people is about time we recognize the a Jew is a Jew it is not a curse it is a fact. Mel they is nothing wrong on calling a duck by its name.
P.S: I'm sorry about the Holocaust, but I'm also sorry about the genocides in Africa, the killings in Iraq, and the bombing in Lebanon.

I think it's ridiculous as well...

But it got blown out of control because:

1) It was against the Jews (it would be just as bad had his references been towards African Americans remember what happened to Jimmy the Greek)

2) He is a celebrity so he always wears a target.

3) He had the nerve to follow his dream, ditch big business Hollywood and make a blockbuster like "The Passion fo the Christ" --- that's what this is really all about!

I totally agree. Who hasn't said something stupid when they were drunk at some point in time? The only reason it's always on the news and the reason he can't appologize is because he's a celebrity. This time next week, no one will care and the news will find someone else to get ratings from. Don't worry Mel, it'll blow over soon.

Anytime someone says anything about Jewish people it gets blown out of proportion. "They are Gods chosen people", don't tease them or complain because they will ruin your career is the status quo. M. Gibson is no different than any other person out of the population, he has the right to speak his mind and have an opinion. By the way don't you notice that whenever we have other more pressing issues going on like Israel killing innocent civilians and not Hezbollah soldiers, the government distracts us with this ******** to draw our attention away from the real issues. Like oil companies reporting record profits.

Obviously the news has nothing better to do. I say, who cares. It's not like he's a political figure. He is human. We all screw up sometime in our life. Even if they did drag him and burn him, the news would still make a big deal out of it.
I'm curious that maybe he has a movie coming out where he is a bad guy and this is publicity... the world has sick people.

Up to a point I agree with you but let's put it into context.

Imagine that you live in a place where the majority of the population in high, executive places were...short. Now if I come out, as a popular resident of this place who also largely depends on the people in high places, and start abusing short people in a very - let's face it- lame and uneducated way....then, tough luck, but as the Mel-man said himself...you're f*****d !

Agreed. It is petty, but what do you expect from a fickle media that is bored with the Middle East, hot weather and is shallow enough to think that we need Mel Gibson as news to make our day complete?
