One of my friends told me that the Depo shot will make me gain alot of weight has anyone gained taking this shot?? or had any other side affects

I was on Depo for about a year or so and gained A LOT of weight from it. I know others that have gained from it. But everyone is diferent.
You could always try it and then if you notice you are gaining weight you can always switch to something different.

I was on the Depo Shot for about 4 years, I gained no weight related to the shot. But others have said it does cause weight gain. All I can tell you about Depo shot is it causes most girls to lose their AF.
After you get off Depo, there are some issues though, I had WICKED mood swings, took me 9 months to get AF, and then I had AF for 2 months straight...If you Google Depo you'll get some good info on what to expect when you decide to get off.

I was on the depo shot for 2 years and I gained a lot of weight. The worst part was the mood swings... it was terrible. Then after I stopped and started on a pill so I would start to have a period I was messed up for 2 years.

After i started the depo shot i bled for 4 months straight, after that i only had a period once a day for 3 months, i was so tired and so sick plus i gained a ton of weight, i was on a year and and when i got off the shot i bled for 6 more months. I thought i was going to bleed to death. It took me 3 years to get pregnant. After i have my baby i will not get on the shot again. I dont recommend anyone using it. But everyone is diffrent i guess.

I only took one depo shot and it made me gain weight and made me feel very sick. It also messed uo my periods real bad! It took more than 6 months for them to become regular again. I would really research about it before taking it. It seems that some people have no problem with it.

I was on the depo shot and it made me loose a bunch of weight. It made me super sick I felt like I was going to barf all the time and I could barley eat. I made me in a bad mood too. I am on the pill now and I like it a lot better.

I knew someone that had to be taken off the Depo shot because it started to cause her to go into early menopause.

i took it for about a year ( three years ago ) i did not gain any weight but i was sick all the time and i used to vomit a lot and i started getting rashlike things on my skin so i stopped taking it . i use the pill after i had my baby my doctor gave me a new pill by the name of Yasmin its low dose and doesnt make you gain any weight you should try that instead

please don't take the depo shot, Its good in some cases, but when I start taking it one year ago I weighted 125 and now 196 and that made me real big and I have big butt and boobs, hips. Everything on me is big.

I was on the depshot, and it stopped my body from ovulating...I had to take clomid to get pregnant
