As much as I love Music, I'd rather be deaf than blind. You can learn to talk with your hands, drive, play sports and generally get by pretty well as a deaf person. But blind... You are very limited in in what and where you can go. Just the fact you have to rely on someone elese to even travel is a Pain.

Deaf people are much more socially isolated than blind people, so if it was from birth, I would chose to be blind.

But I am over 50 and very much a reader and writer, so at this age I would chose to go deaf.

Being an artist, this one is easy for me. I would much rather be deaf than blind. I could tolerate not listening to half the garbage that constitutes communication, but to miss the beauty that is all around us would be extremely painful to me.

I think neither.

Probably deaf because if you are blind you can't see anything. Your eyes say a lot about you and what you can see and your reaction. That is a tough one.

I'd rather be deaf. My mother is blind and I don't think I could handle what she's going through. Being deaf I could always learn how to read lips, learn sign language, be able to read a book, drive a car, and thanks to closed captioning, I'd still be able to enjoy TV.
