No. I know if I look good in something and anyway, I would not want my nearest and dearest knowing if I bought new stuff because he would freak out about how much money I spent and then the whole new-clothes-retail-therapy experience would turn sour.

My wife has given up asking me ... I always said "No"
My own bum is fairly tight so I don't need to ask her opinion - I know she only started going out with me because she liked it!

It just depends that how much close you are with the other person. Might be yes if there is zero hasitation, it could be asked in funny way.

No I don't ask my husband that because he is smart enough to always answer "No!" regardless of how I look. If I want an honest opinion I will take my mother shopping with me. She is always brutally honest.

I have been asked that, and I have said yes once or twice.
Not out of malice though. Dark colours make things look smaller. Lighter things accentuate and make things look bigger.
