Tell him it will be well... that he will live long enough, he will fulfill his destiny, he will live and not die, he will see the day the Lord has made, he may cry at night but joy will come in the morning. tell him it will all pass he should hold fast and be strong. Telling him all this is dependent on your believing it too. If you tell him and he sees fear in your eye he will loose hope, but be strong your self and believe in the words you confess with your mouth, you all should be in agreement with this words because where ever two on more are gathered He will be there and what ever you agree upon on earth shall be agreed upon in heaven. All the best

I'm sure they are not saying "We are just collateral damage honey that's why we have to die tonight" Or maybe they are saying to their kids "Daddy's sorry but we have to die tonight or we will not have peace in our country. That always make the kid feel better. Or how about this "Sorry you arm got blown off son but it was friendly fire they really didn't mean for you to get Maimed",now lets go look for the rest of you sister under those rocks. A parent would never say these things to their child but yet they still have to go through the horror of these situations and people back here in the states can just say these ridicules things like "Innocent people always die in wars that just the way it is" Easy for you to say, you don't have to look for you child under pounds of blown up rubble. Peaceful solutions are the only solutions. People are so scared to give negotiation a chance because we have been led to believe that we must fight when ever confronted with a scary situation. Why do you think you get arrested for punching someone in the face yet we can go to war with a country that has not attacked us first. Try a preemptive punch against you neighbor sometime and see if the cops think you had a good reason or not. We need to hold our Government to the same standard that they hold us too. If we don't they are above the law and that my friends is the start of a Fascist State.

I would hold him close and tell him it will be ok.
God knows where we are and He will protect us.
We are all going to die and He chooses the time for us to come home and be with Him if that time is now Jesus will take us into heaven 2 Corinthians 5:8.

If your really asking because you want to know what to tell your son. Reassure him that you will do your best to keep him safe. He will believe you even if you don't. Try to get to a safer area as soon as possible.
If your just another hypocrite anti anything Israel or American. Then go
ask an Israeli mother, they have been answering that question for years. Suicide bombers, rockets, mortars, RPG's.

Tell him everything will be OK.
But also tell him to never forget that this was all brought about by the hateful ignorance of the jihadists, who choose war, chaos and death over peace and life. Tell him to never forget that, so that he may grow up to fight against the jihadist forces of evil and ignorance that have torn apart your country.

I'm here with you and I'm not leaving. I might also admit to being scared too, but let my child know that I feel safervwhen I am holding them. I would talk about God and tell stories to distract.

only a coward would say this.
If you are fighting for the right reasons you trust in god and what you know is right.freedom is worth fighting and dieing for.
When you have loved ones you put on the uniform and swear to fight for what is right then it is time to stand and be counted.
We are fighting cowards now who hide behind women and children, who hide as civilians with no honor.Even if they live those around them know only shame for they did not believe their god was with them so they lie and deceive

Tell him that's the sound of terrorists being killed and it is a good thing.
You can always say no to that question because if you're wrong he'll never know it.

I'll tell him that I'm just as scared as him (shared feelings, empathise, putting ourselves in the same shoes etc) but that we have one another now, let's treasure the moment while we can.
