say your boss is the tighest bloke ever, he never gives pay rise,
rips the radios out of the company vans so you dont have anything to listen to, dont supply heath and safetly stuff, shouts and screams at his employers in front of everyone, and now places trackers in the company vans.

i know your prob thinking that its his buiness, but people have left because of the abuse they get, and they are a bit pikey.

but i would like to know does anyone know the place like where people can just turn up and start checking the place over, get me?
like say if you rang the heath and safety officers and tipped them off about the place, would they do anything?

where would i find this info?

If you believe there are health and safety issues then you can make a protected disclosure to the Health and Safety executive, even if your boss found out it was you he could not take any action against you, if he did this would result in possible employment tribunal case and he would have to compensate you.

Taking out radios, no payrises and trackers is upto him BUT not supplying Health & Safety stuff is against the law and if your work area is unsafe. The only way you can get past this is by contacting your local council health & safety office and annomously state the fact, they should them look into it. As for the shouting infront of everyone, unless he is been sexist / racists or whatever you just have to put up with it. The last place i worked the manager used to put staff down infront of each other and customers which is really embarrasing. Good Luck xx

If you can get a Health and Safety inspector there, or.. the labor board to come and check it out.. if you can get some people that have quit over hte abuse to submit statements.. then something might happen.. but there's no guarantee.

What state do you live in? Labor standards are different for all of them, but look them up, and give the labor board and the Health and Safety comission a call.. see what you can do.

From the sounds of it, just having them on the premises will send him into orbit! You can ring them in confidence, they're always looking for places to fine.
Your boss is an idiot. Listening to the radio doesn't stop you doing your job more effectively; treating your staff as if they are morons does.
It may be your bosses business, but a good boss will have you all working as a team. Thats good for business. You get paid to do a job, not act as whipping boy/punchbag.
A high staff turnover is costing him money. Saving money by not supplying essential health and safety gear invalidates his liability insurance. The health and safety can check to see he has any.

in the states we have unions to deal with the kind of things you are complaining about, we also have our state wages and labor board, and OSHA which is the safety organization. sorry cant help you. but some of the stuff he is doing there can be done legally here. before you make your complaint make sure you document all of the real safety issues and other rights issues. do not go into this with out documentation or they will just blow you off as a hot head, whiny, complainer.

Health & Safety executive are the ones you want.

You'll need to tell them exactly what Health & Safety problems are in place, and they may not actually come out. They have to be damned serious for them to come out and there will be a backlash for you. Anonymous complaints aren't taken seriously, you'll need to actually give your details to be credible.

I really, really think you're better off just getting yourself out of there.
