i want to get local chester papers, to see how much house prices were at the time in my locality, i.e what I could have bought for £40,000. my ex wife is going at me because she cant afford a house, but she kept £40.00o in the bank since 87, and now wants me to buy her a house, coz i didnt do decree nisi (very silly) she can't afford one now! so law says I have to get her one! and ahes sending ones at £250,000

You could go to your local Library they should have an achieve of all the local papers

Go to your local library. I found information gong back to 1963 at Bolton Library archives section.

You are being stupid, that information has no relevance on the financial details of your divorce.
You are grasping at straws, get yourself the best council you can afford instead of wasting the time you could be working with to make enough money to pay for her house!
