The line up is every coach's dream.
And the top 3 pitchers are enough to get them through the playoffs. Even if they struggle, the line up will produce runs.

Let me break this down 1 by 1
1. Damon, he has not played very well this season not very exciting
2. Jeter, I got nothing bad to say
3. Giambi, he is a one trick pony, dangerous but not scary
4. Sheffield, this is a big assumption that he will even play at a level good enough to get on the field
5. A-Rod, what else do I have to say, this guy ain't going to win you a title
6. Abreu, he is having a horrible season other than wlaking consistently
7. Matsui, you're dreaming if you think he is coming back effective this season
8. Posada, overrated
9. Cano, I like him
Defense- sucks very badly
1. Mussina
2. Chen both good
3. Johnson sucks
4. Wright sucks
5. Lidle, you'll find out about him today

Great Lineup, but it needs to be. With Sheffield or Giambi at 1B Very weak defensively. We won't get into A-Rod's Defense. Posada is average at best defensively.
After you get by Mussina & Wang the pitching's average also. Johnson is VERY hittable this year, Wright... not so good, Lidle isn't very good either. I'd look for the top 2 to win about 2/3 of their starts, the others, maybe 1/2???
There's more to baseball than a batting order. I think the Yankees are a great team, but they won't be threatening any records and aren't THAT much better of a lineup than several other MLB teams, sorry Fabio...

There is no way i would have Abreu hiting above Matsui.
Its a good line up.
I think you grossly over-played your pitching to be honest.
I think the White Sox have a better line-up, and better pitching. You can hardly argue with the Tigers or the mets.
The problem with the Yankees is everyone is the same. Pretty easy to pitch to for a good pitcher, there is a reason why the yankees won when they were not filled with huge contracts and names, and have not won since.
There is no way i would have signed Abreu, i would promote some of the young guys who have played well (also, look at the farm system, you won when all the guys came out of the farm system) and build a long term team, which is also important.
What exactly have those young guys done wrong? They have impressed me.

It will come down to pitching, both for the Yankees and whoever wants to have any shot to beat them. In 2003, the Yankees averaged almost 5.4 runs a game, but only scored 21 in six games against the Marlins, including seven in the last three games.
That stacked offense should almost guarantee them a playoff spot, but anything can happen after that. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the World Series, but it also wouldn't shock me to see them knocked out in the first round.

It is a great lineup even if Matsui and Sheffield don't come back at 100%.
I'm still skeptical about the pitching. Mussina is a great anchor but Randy Johnson is definitely showing his age and the rest of the guys are basically cast-off's from other teams.

Fabio, history repeats itself. Sheffield is gonna be a miserable jerk in the clubhouse when he's not in right field. If by chance he's not, thats gonna be a hell of a lineup, but uhh, dont forget about
1. Reyes
2. LoDuca
3. Beltran
4. Delgado
5. Wright
6. Floyd
7. Valentin
8. Anybody BUT Lastings Milledge, lol

Don't really like the pitching (except Moose and Wang), but, the lineup is to die for ... although I would switch Abreu with Giambi in the batting order ... actually my batting order would go like this:
Jeter
Damon
Abreu
Giambi
A-Rod
Sheffield
Matsui
Posada
Cano
I guess Bernie will really ride the bench now.

It will never happen. Gary Sheffield will not play another game for the Yankees.
