It takes practice darling. You are the only one who's opinion about you counts, lets start with that. Let go of the criticism the more you hold on to it the stronger and more powerful it becomes. Continue to move forward every moment because you can't go backwards so don't even try.
Find someone who has great self esteem and mimic them until it's second nature to you. It also helps to be nice to people all the time, they will assume that you are confident and already have good self esteem.
Don't be jealous - that will ruin you in an instant. Only compare yourself to yourself and it will be easier to see improvement. You will be amazed at how many people that seem to have great self esteem really don't because they never really worked on it. I'm proud of you that you want to work on it.
The best thing I can tell you is to LOVE YOURSELF UNCONDITIONALLY that way no one can ever hurt you.
Go forward with confidence.

This is not criticism but if you are a Christian and you really want to follow Jesus, Hes said "I came not to destroy the law but to fulfill it." I'm sure you are familiar with what the Old Testament law is as stated in Leviticus 18:22. When the enemy tempts you, pray for strength in Jesus' name and the enemy will flee from you.

If you don't know Jesus personally, pray this prayer:

"Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sin. Today, I turn away from it. I accept Jesus' sacrifice on the cross as payment for my sin. Jesus, come into my life as my Lord and Saviour. I want to follow You now. Father I pray this in Jesus' name, amen."

You are now a child of God (John 1:12, 13). Read the Book of John in the Bible (it's the one after Luke). Find a Bible-believing church and attend often. You might also read Ephesians 6:10-18.

God Bless!
