Shaving may be a pain but thinking because you have shaved your thigh it has grown in thicker or hairier...it just not true. It is your "hair pattern" on your leg , period. The darker your hair and skin color is the more prevalent hair might be in a certain area. It is like darker skinner woman (having medium or olive skin and darker) tend to have more visible hair above their lip...whereas lighter haired and skinned people don't...because it is obviously lighter and less noticeable. Waxing, like another person advised could have longer "lasting effects"...but maybe all you have to do is just shave where you NEED to.....do you wear short-shorts everyday of the year, and you need to have your whole thigh done?...somehow, I doubt that. Just start shaving from say 5-6 inches above your knee and do not worry about your upper thigh....it will reach a certain pre-determined "length" and stop growing, especially for the colder months. Now in the summer, I think most people do shave the whole leg, but give yourself a break when the weather cools off. Personally, I do not think the continued use of products like Nair and hair removal products like it are that safe....but that is my opinion, only.

You did not make the hair start to grow on your thighs. What happened is when you shaved it, it all grew back in at once and therefore became more noticible. So you did not make yourself have hairy legs. I shave my whole leg, not just the lower half, and I think most people shave their whole leg. Although if I'm being lazy I can get away with not shaving my thighs once in awhile, however if I'm going swimming or something I make sure and do the whole leg. You're normal, hair removal is just a normal part of being female.

I never had to shave my thighs until now. I'm 35 and with age comes hair that is unwanted. lol. Last month was the first time I did cause my hair before was too light and was completely unnoticable. Both my children and a niece shave and all three have to do their thighs (got their father's genes with the dark hair). You are totally normal and there are plenty of people your age that must shave their thighs.
Best product is Veet. Way better / powerful and works longer than nair. Or at least with me it's better and lasts longer.

Well, I bet your not the only female that does it, and if it looks good on you keep doing it. Lets see half the world population is female, only about 10 percent of that shave their legs, that still leaves over half a billion women, yeah a really good chance that other women shave their thighs. Heck some even go higher, but that is a personnal choice of course.

Shaving does not make your hair grow in thicker. It is weird to only shave the lower half of your legs. Where do you stop? Mid knee? I shave my entire leg and have for years. If you feel like you need to grow out your thigh hair, do it in the winter.

I am not sure what miracle products on the market there are but I don't think there would be a 'long lasting' hair removal product that would work really well.. I think the only way to get rid of the annoying hair on your thighs and legs is to have laser hair removal which is permanent.

I'm in the same boat... I started shaving without asking permission and shaved my entire legs. I just shave mine when I shave the bottom half... Laser treatment is available for long term treatment, but it's painful and expensive. I am 26 and I've never had anyone mention it to me in a negative way... Don't stress it.

I do not, because I'm blonde and feature very faded hair on my legs. I do not have got to shave above my knee. But my part sister has darker hair (my stepmom has darker hair, too) and she or he shaves her thighs. If it's seen, sure, if now not then do not trouble on account that it's plenty of labor!

Get a full leg wax it works for 6 weeks minimum.
The more you remove the hair the thicker it grows back.
Are you sure the hair is that bad could it just be that you know it's there so it's really noticeable to you
