They manipulate the words (especially fox news) to please the owners of that chanel or newspaper.... which turns the people away from the truth and what is really happening. They dont show u or tell u eveything that is ngoing on. For example, they didnt mention that the building in the footage of hizballah firing the missiles in Qana arent the building shown. They also edit interviews so people dont see what the person is aiming at saying. In WW2 all the germans (most at least) loved hitler because he controlled the media. In the US now, many people like george bush though he vetoed an important bill that helps the whole world and he has done some dumb things. That is because of fox news. Also people forget that hizballah was founded after the israeli invasions of lebanon specifically after the 1982 invasion that devasted the South. That is who fired the first missile (or shot or whatever it is). The best way to move away from these problems of being biased are different sources.

They are supposed to provide you with factual information about the conflict and the way our government is handling it. Unfortunately when it comes to Iraq they are working for the administration and not the people of the US. My local news station starts out every report on Iraq with "And now in the war on terror". Iraq is not a war, it is an occupation. And occupations by their very nature are evil.

In theory to report the facts and let you decide.

the reality to report facts, edit and then package them to meet a perceived audience. The growth of visual media tends to mean that media reporters concentrate on image, rather than the underlying facts. A picture saves a thousand words, but not if the picture is emotive enough and distorts the underlying facts.

To report how the war is progressing and try to present an unbiased view of the conflict.

But sometimes the media is used for political bias and propaganda, especially in certain countries.

Something they refuse to do, give the news without the words, "but", "however", "A high government official, who requests anonymity....", "Our sources tell us....", etc.

The unbiased truth would be nice.
