What keeps you getting up every day and doing it all over again?

Well, it isn't sex that's for sure. I guess I really don't have a choice and I am not a huge fan of suicide. I can tell you that life isn't always about laying around or walking around with a big smile. Sure we all need those moments but as far as a daily plan we need a variety of things to do [other than what we do for work] to lead a constructive life. For example I enjoy writing these stupid little postings just before my biological system shuts down for the day. I like also like to read, exercise, fish and spend a little quality time with my pet. Unlike many dog owners I always spend at least an hour a day hanging out with my pal and he hangs out with me for about eight hours per day as a quiet observer. The way I see it is that I owe it to him and he pays me back with respect. As far as over all motivation goes I would have to say that it isn't constant. I change with the seasons. If I find myself feeling like a worthless piece of crap I tend to follow up with a "personal mental health exam". Which most of the time means that I have to change the program of modify it. I have no grand visions that are going to lead me down the perfect path in life. I can accept the fact that I will most likely spend my entire life alone or unmarried. I really don't have any desire to procreate. When you have lived alone as long as I have your perception changes dramatically. I don't believe in love anymore. It is a nice word but it isn't for everyone.

Getting up every morning and taking time to reflect on how yesterday went. Then the motivation is actual planning for a better way. I never regret what I have done but always seem to think I could have done something a little better. In this manner I have beat alcohol and drug addiction for 55 weeks.

several reasons:
1. I'm a very curious person and every day something new happens.
2. Because i have long term ambitions and every day might be the day i come a (small) step closer towards realizing these ambitions
3. I've a lot of questions which need to be answered
4. I hate the alternative of NOT getting up, it seems just so boring.

Mostly it's my husband, whom I love with all my heart. He's elderly and unwell, and he needs me.

But, some days, my motivation is working through the day to that chocolate cake for dessert.

Life! I figure that every day might possibly be a very important day for me, or at least a very different one. If it is not then tomorrow is another chance.

The same thing that has kept people going for years. Curiosity. I simply can not wait to see what is going to happen today.

I don't need much. My determination to fufill my dreams is one thing. The feeling that you get for waking up everyday is what gets me up as well. You don't need to go in great detail to get up because it's life. As long as you get up and do life, you've done it all.
