Where is the clue? Part of the reason for the war in Iraq is, it was funneling large amounts of money to terrorist, like ben laden. Remember 9-11? There are other reasons, like paying the families of the suicide bombers. As for Viet Nam, hopefully most people are a lot wiser now.

Vietnam went on for around 20 years with American involvement, and it wasn't until the last 6 or so years did people start thinking we were in the wrong war. Bush hoodwinked us in to going to Iraq, and people are protesting now!
The best protest is coming up in November when we can kick out the government that put us there, and again when the presidential elections come up!

More people globally protested against the Iraq war than any other war in history, millions took to the streets to try to prevent it. they where largely ignored by the media and completely ignored by the politicians so people have given up, short of violent revolution, people havn't got a clue what to do. Protest seems like a complete waste of time and effort.

During most of the vietnam war there was a draft. When Nixon (in a brilliant political move) ended the draft the protests stopped.
