I think its 'old wives tale' but anyway, when I was pergnant people told me all sorts of things. I think the weirdest one was that if I ate the heel of the bread I was having a boy which was not true I had a girl. The other weird one was that an old mexican lady was giving me a massage and she told me the baby was growing on the boy side of my stomach but it was going to be a girl. SHe was right. weird I know. Oh and also that if my hair and nails were growing I was having a girl and they were both right. What about you?

Best wives tale? I got constant heartburn, the babys got a lot of hair. Not true. Our baby had hair but not tons of it.

It's "wives' tale".

If it's a wives' tale, it's generally untrue. Like the one about pouring Drano into the toilet and then peeing, and the color is supposed to tell you what sex the baby will be.

I've heard the one about if you raise your hands over your head, you'll wrap the cord around the babys' neck and choke it. Don't think that one's true, lol. But, I was also told that if I had heartburn, my baby would have a lot hair. That one, was true for both of my babies.

There is this belief that some nurses believe they can tell you what you are going to have based on your shape during pregnancy. One woman was told she was going to have a boy and she had U/S that said she was having a girl.

if you have severe heart burn your baby will have a head full of hair when born . as much heart burn as i had you would have thought my kids would have had hair down to their ankles . all were bald as heck with a little fuzz on their heads .
also if you raise your arms up or sit indian style you will wrap the umbilical cord around the babies neck .

a good one is to rub cream on ur tummy! it doesnt have 2 be an expensive brand or one for pregnant women, any good mosturiser works or baby oil if u dont have any mosturiser. it most definately helps keep stretch marks 2 a minimum!
i used baby oil and it worked for me. :)
